2003 Peewee House League

Skill instruction and drills are done with game situations in mind. This means that game situations are emulated with pressure when possible. Skills taught include cradling, passing, catching, shooting, checking, pickups, faking, screens, picks, face-offs, power-play and man-short. Goalies start making decisions as to who to pass to during the breakout. Players go to the boards on the breakout and the ball goes up the boards. Give-and-go's are taught off the breakout or one-on-one to the net. Offensive plays usually start from the same point. As such, players learn to recognize what the other team is doing and they are able to adapt and improvise to the situation. On line changes, the first player goes straight down the boards and the second player goes to the ball.

In order to balance teams, all players must attend both grading sessions as follows:
