2005 BURLINGTON
Christmas Parade

The Burlington Minor Lacrosse Association is very excited to announce that this year, we will be participating in the 40th Annual Burlington Christmas Parade. The parade is always a highlight of the Christmas season for the entire family.

The parade will take place on Sunday, December 4, 2005, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. starting with a food collection by the Burlington Teen Tour Band Boosters for those less fortunate this holiday season. Following the food drive there will be a vibrant group of clowns, bands, floats and walking characters. The parade route starts at Prospect Street and Guelph Line, follows Guelph Line south to New Street, west on New Street to Brant Street, turning north and finishing at Brant and Caroline.

The local rotary clubs of Burlington are once again co-sponsoring the parade, along with the support of businesses that will sponsor the bands that provide the musical entertainment. We are pleased to announce that Court Galvanizing is the sponsor for our float this year.

On behalf of the organization, I would like to invite all the box and field players (girls & boys) to come out and participate in this year’s parade. It will be a day filled with fun and excitement. This is also an excellent opportunity to show the City that LACROSSE, the fastest game on two feet, is booming in Burlington.

If any of the players are interested in participating in the parade, please phone me at (905)560-5726 or email me at Special Events. Players will be either sitting on the float or walking behind it. The minimum age for any participants who are marching in the parade is 10 years. Due to the limited number of spaces on the float, players under the age of 10 will be accepted on a first come basis. Volunteers are also needed to help decorate the float the morning of the parade.

Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Maria Bianchin

Director of Tournaments/Special Events
