GIRLS HOUSE LEAGUE FIELD LACROSSE

The house-league field lacrosse program is expanding to include ages from 5 to 14 inclusive divided into 3 divisions. The program will be following the previous year’s format of a 20-minute practice followed by a game. The season will start the first week of May and conclude at the end of June. Games will be either once or twice a week during weekday evenings.

For those new to the game field lacrosse is an incidental contact sport like basketball or soccer and played at a much faster pace. The ball is passed around the field with the use of a lacrosse stick that differs from a boy’s stick. The purpose is to score on your opponent and to keep them from scoring on your net. The house-league field size and rules have been modified to accommodate the skill development needs of the younger players. The only equipment required is a stick, mouth guard and turf running shoes or cleats.

GIRLS REP FIELD LACROSSE

Our under 15 (U15) and under 19 (U19) Rep teams play games in the Greater Toronto and Golden Horseshoe area. The rep season starts in May with games starting by the beginning of June. Both teams compete for a provincial championship usually played within the first couple of weeks in August. Many of our rep players get involved with coaching, umpiring, and timekeeping to help out with the house-league and rep programs. The girls have an opportunity to try out for the provincial field lacrosse teams that play international competitions, including games stateside. These teams provide a terrific opportunity for exposure to various Canadian & U.S. universities. There is also a senior league for those graduating from the U19 program.
