Junior Chiefs Development (formerly Paperweight Select)

Attention all Paperweight Players - the Junior Chiefs Development Program is now open and accepting registrations!  The information regarding the program is listed below below and the link to register and to submit payment is found by clicking here.   Any questions regarding the Junior Chiefs Program should be directed to Bryan Johnson.

Ages

  • Paperweight aged players born in 2011/2012 for the 2017 season

Goal

  • Is to provide the entry and opportunity for more players to develop skills and abilities in a practice environment focusing on individual player growth.  Junior Chiefs Practice an additional night during House League Season and for an additional  weeks after House League until mid July.

  • Develop a Pool of Player to feed into the Tyke Rep  Box and Field teams

Cost

  • 2017 - Cost $120.00

Overview

  • Each player will play house league Paperweight  for 8 weeks

  • Incremental practice session will be added in 1 day per week during house league season and additional sessions after House League until mid July.  Starting first  May 1st on Monday at 6pm. 

  • Once house league is completed sessions will continue until Mid July.  The practice may change from Monday - but we will do our best to keep it the same.

  • Total of 13 additional Sessions over House League

Development Focus

  • Practices will be focus against development  and individual skills and ability

  • Each Sessions will include warmup and broken into stations groups.    (Players divided into groups based on skill and ability)

First half Stations

  • Stations focus on specific skills sets.  Passing, running with ball, Catching  

Second Half Stations

  • Competitive drills, One on ones, loose balls, Two on Ones, Two on Twos etc

Junior A and NLL involvement

  • Clinics will be run with support of  current and former Junior A and NLL players

End of Year Tournament Team

  • All players who participate in Program born in 2011 will have opportunity to participate in a year end travel tournament in Welland July 14-16. 

  • Team will be selected by coaches of the program based on skill and ability. if we have more more players sign up than roster spots available
